Talented and Gifted (TAG)

    BVSD Schools provide programming for Talented and Gifted (TAG) students based on their identified needs and in accordance with district policy,IGBB, Progr​ams for Gifted Students.
    Student are identified as Talented and Gifted through the district adopted identification process which is based on a body of evidence. 
     
    TAG Educational Advisors are advocates and support staff in BVSD schools for TAG students. The TAG Tutor at Creekside Elementary is Eileen Rudd. She can be contacted by email eileen.rudd@bvsd.org or phone 720 561-3800.
     
    Programming for Talented and Gifted Students
    In BVSD, the classroom teacher is the primary provider of advanced academic services to students in their targeted area(s)of strength to the greatest extent possible. The TAG Tutor supports the teacher in providing appropriate educational services to TAG students. Programming provided to TAG identified students is documented in the student's Advanced Learning Plan (ALP).
     
    Enrichment Opportunities
    Schools provide students with activities and opportunities that enrich their educational experiences. Any interested student is invited and encouraged to participate. Enrichment activities.
     
    The Talented and Gifted (TAG) program sponsors these activities that offer extracurricular educational opportunities to all Creekside students:
    Wonderful World of Exploration​ (grades K-5)
    Spelling Bee (grades 1-5)
    Math Olympiads (grades 4-5)
    Geography Bee (grades 4-5)
    Junior Great Books (grades K-5)
    Destination Imagination (grades 1-5)

    ​​Resources

    The BVSD Office of Advanced Academic Services has provided schools with books and resources over the years. These materials address the social/emotional characteristics of children who are gifted, varieties of differentiation strategies for instruction, information regarding specific populations of gifted children including factors of gender, culture, ethnicity, twice exceptionality, and more. Staff and parents are invited to check these resources out. Resources are available from theOffice of Advanced Academic Services.

I am a para educator supporting Stefani Anderson in kindergarten and 2nd grade literacy. I have spent 7 years with preschool. Looking at life through the eyes of young children keep me young and entertained! I was raised in Michigan and graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Communication & Marketing. I have been married since 1993. We moved to New Mexico in 2003 and than to Colorado in 2005 due to my husband's job. I have two beautiful daughters, Natalie and Tess that attend CU-Boulder and Monarch HS, respectively. I love the diversity and community of Creekside!</p>
