Coach L.). I began teaching in Boulder Valley at Creekside in 2005. I grew up on the Space Coast of Florida, in Cocoa, with my Mother, Father, and 3 siblings. My dad worked for NASA and my mother was a homemaker and volunteered with various organizations. My siblings and I all attended public school in Brevard County. After High School, I earned my AA degree from Brevard Community College. I was accepted at The University of Florida (this is why I’m a big Gator fan), where I took mostly business courses. After 2 years of “real school”, I decided that I needed a break from school, so I worked for several years at various jobs; an ice cream route salesman, a boat builder, a business owner and a customer service rep. It was after working for those years that I decided to go back to college to pursue a P.E. teaching degree. I graduated from The University of South Florida, Tampa in 1986. I found my calling and developed a deep passion for teaching children. I began my teaching career in Plant City, FL., in 1986 where I taught P.E. at a Pre-K – 12 th grade public school for 7 years. Outside of school, my hobbies include sailboat racing and cruising, travelling, and building and fixing things around my home. I had the opportunity to participate in several sailboat races in Boston this past summer. My profile picture is me racing in Boston with the skyline in the background.

I have both my Bachelors and Masters in Art Education. I absolutely love teaching art and am so excited to be working with Creekside’s amazing young artists! When I’m not teaching I like to spend my time making art, taking yoga classes, spending time with my husband and pets, reading, and going for hikes.

Creekside is such a fortunate school to have such a diverse population of students. As well as teaching the standard subjects, I enjoy incorporating lessons from the school garden as it lends itself to innovative lessons including math, language arts, science, cooking/health, and technology. Originally I am from California, but have been in Colorado since 2000.
