Mindful Life Parent Survey
After a glitch on the first go round, we hope you have received the Mindful Life Parent Survey. Your feedback is important to us as we plan for next year. Thank you for participating. If you did not receive the survey, you may access it here.

District Advisory Council
Thank you Ann Michelle Hill, fifth grade parent, for serving as the DAC representative this year. As this is Ann Michelle's final year at Creekside, we are in need of a new SAC representative.

The DAC (District Advisory Council) is a legally constituted committee of representatives from BVSD. As per Colorado Revised Statutes 22-11-302, DAC meets monthly throughout the year and makes recommendations to the BVSD Board of Education (BoE) regarding:

  • Improvement planning

  • Spending priorities

  • Parent engagement

  • Charter school applications

  • Various study topics jointly determined with the school board

In addition to providing recommendations to the BoE, DAC provides training and information that SACs can share with each school community. The complete responsibilities of DAC members are described in the DAC bylaws.

We are in need of a Creekside DAC representative for the 2019-2020 school year by May 31, 2019. BVSD DAC meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 6:15-8:30 pm at the BVSD Education Center. The first meeting regular meeting for the 2019-2020 school year is Tuesday, September 3, 2019.

Please contact me if you are interested.

Have a nice weekend, we'll see you on Tuesday.

Warm regards,
Francine

The District Attorney’s Office is pleased to announce the “Fresh Start” program to provide an opportunity for eligible offenders to resolve their outstanding warrants without fear of arrest.  The program is designed to give those with active warrants stemming from non-violent and low-level misdemeanor or traffic cases an opportunity to move toward a resolution in their case.  This program is a collaborative effort between the Boulder DA’s Office, the defense bar, judges, and the Sheriff’s Office.  Although the DA’s Office is attempting to notify eligible offenders, I would appreciate your sharing this information with your contacts and clients.

The “Fresh Start” event will be held at the Boulder County Justice Center on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  At that time, individuals with warrants in qualifying cases can speak with a representative from the District Attorney’s Office to either resolve the case or set the case for a new court date. Regardless of the outcome on that day, the warrant for the individuals’ arrest will be vacated if they appear for court on Saturday, April 13, 2019.  The April event will also have volunteers, attorneys from the Boulder County Criminal Defense Bar, and immigration attorneys to help answer questions.  The event does not require an appointment to be made in advance.  Individuals who appear on that date will not be arrested on the warrant.  Please see attached for more information.

Please note that this event may be of particular interest to immigrants in our community.  We are not requiring appointments be made and we will not share the list of eligible offenders with any outside agency.  Also, since it is being held on a Saturday, we are hoping to minimize the disruption to M - F work schedules.  Thank you for sharing this information with others.
