I started out teaching Kindergarten for the first two years and moved to first grade in the 2010-11 school year. I earned my BA in Psychology from Idaho State University and received my teaching license through an alternative teaching program at Friends’ School in Boulder. In 2010, I graduated from the University of Colorado, Denver with an MA in educational psychology. I have two awesome teenagers, two giant cats, and a sweet dog. I love any kind of outdoor physical activity, so Colorado is definitely my ideal place to live! I also love to cook, read, play word games, drink coffee and eat chocolate. That about sums me up!
I started my career in autism education in 2011 at The Joshua School, Denver. I taught at TJS for three years working with individuals ages 11-15. During my time at TJS I helped open the new Boulder campus. In 2014 I transitioned to the public school system and taught an elementary ILC autism classroom in St. Vrain for two years. In 2016 I decided to take some time off to travel the world. I spent 8 months backpacking through South East Asia and a little over one month living and traveling in a camper-van in New Zealand! It has been a wonderful and life-changing experience but I am excited to return to my life passion career and join the Creekside family!!

I have been teaching at Creekside since 2005 - two years as a literacy tutor/teacher and kindergarten since 2007. Both of my amazing children attended Creekside (K-5th) and went to kindergarten in Room 1! My daughter, Alex, attends CU Boulder. My son, Noah, attends Fairview. My wonderful husband, David, runs his own IT business, Free Range Geeks, here in Boulder. My favorite things about Creekside are the diversity and family-feel of the school. I have a BA in psychology, an elementary teaching license, a Master's in Literacy and Curriculum Development, and a Master's in Multicultural Education - all from CU Boulder. I love teaching kindergarten because I get to explore, learn, and laugh every day with my students. For fun, I like to read, hike in the mountains, travel, play board games, create projects with all kinds of art materials, drink tea, and eat ice cream!
