Coach L.). I began teaching in Boulder Valley at Creekside in 2005. I grew up on the Space Coast of Florida, in Cocoa, with my Mother, Father, and 3 siblings. My dad worked for NASA and my mother was a homemaker and volunteered with various organizations. My siblings and I all attended public school in Brevard County. After High School, I earned my AA degree from Brevard Community College. I was accepted at The University of Florida (this is why I’m a big Gator fan), where I took mostly business courses. After 2 years of “real school”, I decided that I needed a break from school, so I worked for several years at various jobs; an ice cream route salesman, a boat builder, a business owner and a customer service rep. It was after working for those years that I decided to go back to college to pursue a P.E. teaching degree. I graduated from The University of South Florida, Tampa in 1986. I found my calling and developed a deep passion for teaching children. I began my teaching career in Plant City, FL., in 1986 where I taught P.E. at a Pre-K – 12 th grade public school for 7 years. Outside of school, my hobbies include sailboat racing and cruising, travelling, and building and fixing things around my home. I had the opportunity to participate in several sailboat races in Boston this past summer. My profile picture is me racing in Boston with the skyline in the background.
